Overcoming 2011

It is that time of year again when people start thinking about their New Year’s Resolutions, promising this year is going to be the year they keep them!  This year for me something has changed, this year I have to keep mine, I have the same ones every year and I try my best!  However I slip up too many times, for me it needs to be about facts, not goals and we’ve all been taught resolutions are goals.  This year I am rethinking that concept I am making 2011 the year of facts, the year I Overcome.

Why overcome?  Why not succeed?  My problems seem to be rooted in something deeper than just “will power” or perseverance.  Mine problems are rooted in Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, I am OCD.  This year I will overcome my OCD, because my OCD can’t argue with facts.

Here it is my three New Year’s Resolutions

1.       Get out of debt

2.       Control the Clutter

3.       Get Right – Stress/Health/Outlook

Now I understand I didn’t get here in a year, it will certainly take me longer than a year to get out.  Each day will have to a step toward a bigger goal, 365 steps can take you a long way!  Each month will have a goal, based in fact, based in hard numbers that I will strive to reach.  At the end I will be able to clearly say yes I’ve overcome or I failed.

I hope you will join me on this journey as I overcome what’s overwhelmed me!
